Looking for coffee I found this hole......thoughts?
« on: June 06, 2011, 09:24:22 AM »
While searching for a coffee shop online I came across a website with satellite imagery.  So instead of looking for a coffee shop, I cruised the neighborhood and came across this hole.  Any thoughts on the design of this hole from above?

Looks like a classic Redan from the air, albeit with some odd bunkering.

Hope all is well with you, Ron!  And I hope you got that coffee....

Hah Jeff, you archies probably can tell if the area to right and going around to rear of that green complex is sloped from high like a kick plate like the Redan type contour.  But..... what if it was a low swale?  ;) ;D

Good call by Jeff on the Redan. I bet there has been significant work on the hole at some point. Looks like the left greenside bunker has been greatly reduced in size. And I really doubt that the first bunker off the tee is original.

Is this by any chance where the LPGA played this week?  When do we get to see the pulled out view of the overall?  ;) ;D

From my neophyte abilities, it is probably a mountain course rather than in a tidewater area I'm guessing.  ::)

Strange, bunker shape and sand colour look very different from the surrounding holes. Is this a renovation of some sort? or just Photoshopped?
