Interesting. Has real estate always been a part of the CGC grand plan?

I live in the neighborhood just south of the CGC development. I would not presume to speak for the club or its members, but I can say that real  estate was part of the plan at the beginning. I was given a tour of the course during construction, and the person who took me around talked a lot about the grand plan of the development, where the housing would go, etc. I still have an early map of the development with the lots marked out on it. The course was always to be a core course, although I believe that the par 3 does wind around between some of the houses. A small number of the houses are visible from our side of the valley, as well as some of the lots where houses might end up being, some day. Needless to say their timing was just poor, given their high-end aspirations. I wish them luck. The land itself is beautiful, and what they did build is very attractive, to my eye anyway.

National memberships with guest cabins were also part of the original plan. Lots are for sale @ 400K+:

Mike McGetrick was the driving force behind this. Mike is a very accomplished teacher (of Meg Mallon among others) and got into a project, real estate development based on a golf course, out of his skill set. Stuff happens. Anyway, the course and club now has a way forward, though it won't be easy.
