In 2008, when I got custom Scratch wedges (Ari Techner of GCA) and a custom Edel Putter (from David) I went from a 6.0 to a 4.5 index, won the stroke play club championship for my flight, runner up in the match play club championship in my flight, and finished second in the player of the year standings at my club.

This custom stuff works, if you're serious about your game.

did you do the full fitting (i.e., everything that's described in the article) for one of david's putters?

Yes, I did Carl.

They were at a fitting day. I chose to just get a custom fit putter, however, not the replaceable face/sole plate model with the different weighting.

I did the full wedge fitting with the scratch guys as well.

Of course now the putter still works, but the wedge game is suspect because of lack of playing it's hard to hit it on the clubface!

David looks to have some innovative ideas in his process, showing some deep understanding of human nature.  Very cool.
The trouble with modern equipment and distance—and I don't see anyone pointing this out—is that it robs from the player's experience. - Mickey Wright
