Well, I am trying to figure out what I think about this. My first thought was "why didn't I think of this?" Then I had to wonder if this is really sustainable? I mean, does this little chain of islands get enough people coming through to support an operation like this? I like the idea, thinking outside the box, but I have to wonder if it can be sustained in such a remote location?

I thought about this before, but never thought anyone would actually do it...

I have a piece of business advice for them.

Start with nine holes.  You'll only lose half as much if it fails, and it's easy to build the other nine if the first actually gets busy.

But, according to the old rule of thumb, a $500 million golf course would have to charge $5,000 per round to make money, even if it was busy.  I didn't realize the economy in the Maldives was that strong!
