Why, I don't know either  ;D but the two icons are now located on the home page of GolfClubAtlas.com. Actually, various people are helping and for instance Chris Buie has uploaded some fantastic vintage films from some of our favorite courses onto our Facebook wall.

Be warned: There will no doubt be a learning curve  :-\ in using these media features so thanks for your patience and support.

Cheers,

Using Twitter and Facebook?  Sounds like brand suicide to me!   ;D

A friend of mine (a cartoonist) recently submitted to The New Yorker a cartoon of my devising.

Two guys on opposite ends of a desert island. You know -- little isle with a palm tree.

Both staring at laptops. (Probably should have been smartphones.)

One says to the other: "No. You follow me on Facebook and Twitter."

Says it all, for me.

No sale.

Curmudgeonly,
Dan

Sweet. You old fogeys need to realize the power of Twitter.  ;D

For example, David Dusek from Golf Magazine is on Twitter and usually tweets the pin sheets for each round at the majors. He did for the first round at Augusta yesterday and will probably tweet today's soon.

Just saying....

I can see the hole locations with my own eyes, at Masters.org -- if I want that information (a big IF).

Just saying...

I suppose one HAS to be on Facebook and Twitter these days.  I mean, if they can bring down a dictator using Facebook, it has to help burnish the brand of an enterprise such as this.  I'm very slow to social media as I creep toward 60, but I am not totally averse to its allure.  As I ready myself for a big election in a year, I'm starting to slip my feet into the hot tub of social media sites.  I started with the seemingly harmless LinkedIn, designed for business contacts.  I had resisted all invitations to join for a few years, but made the plunge a few weeks ago.  As I started to rack up "contacts" (none of whom wanted to "poke" me), I started feeling like this new social media world might be okay.

Then I was watching the popular sitcom, "30 Rock" a week or so ago and Alec Baldwin was ribbing Tina Fey about some loser of their mutual acquaintance.  "He's on LinkedIn, he might as well be dead," he said.

I guess I'm on the dinosaur network!  Facebook and Twitter, here come da judge!

Don't miss out on Ryan Potts whining about the fighting Illini or slobbering over D.A. Points.  During the NCAA's I read his posts aloud to my 15yr old son.

I am not on Facebook out of respect for my children.

Twitter ?

Twitter is a wonderful tool, a new and improved realtime RSS feed (you want to today's hole location at the Masters, follow David Dusek @GOLFcom_Dusek Friday Pin Sheet ) for news and information ...

However, the Tweeter has to be active, so who is actually making or will be making those "tweets"?

Hard to believe that a recent dearth of posts on GCA by the fearless leader will now morph into constant sub-140 character posts on GCA related topics ...

We need an official GCA hashtag for when I live tweet my matches with JC.

#GCA seems to be used by others so what about #gca1999?
Did you know World Woods has the best burger I've ever had in my entire life? I'm planning a trip back just for another one between rounds.

I second the request for an Iphone app, or at least a mobile version so the text fits the frame on a smartphone.  Nothing worse than travelling and trying to follow some GCA discussion on a smartphone internet link, not to mention posting a response!

It's unfortunate that I didn't get to live slobber during the Masters...although I have to say, I did enjoy the back to back days without media.  But, I'm back....and @theFakeTiger better watch out.

why not #golfclubatlas?  almost as long as the cryptic #gca1999, which reads like R2D2 or C3PO or H2S2...
