I suppose one HAS to be on Facebook and Twitter these days. I mean, if they can bring down a dictator using Facebook, it has to help burnish the brand of an enterprise such as this. I'm very slow to social media as I creep toward 60, but I am not totally averse to its allure. As I ready myself for a big election in a year, I'm starting to slip my feet into the hot tub of social media sites. I started with the seemingly harmless LinkedIn, designed for business contacts. I had resisted all invitations to join for a few years, but made the plunge a few weeks ago. As I started to rack up "contacts" (none of whom wanted to "poke" me), I started feeling like this new social media world might be okay.
Then I was watching the popular sitcom, "30 Rock" a week or so ago and Alec Baldwin was ribbing Tina Fey about some loser of their mutual acquaintance. "He's on LinkedIn, he might as well be dead," he said.
I guess I'm on the dinosaur network! Facebook and Twitter, here come da judge!
