All one can say is Wow. From the event, to the participants, everything was top notch. First cabin. We were blessed with great weather, great food, and a venue that was vastly improved from its original. My attempt to chronicle those changes could not do them justice. But, the biggest difference can be summed up with one word. "Soulful". The lions share of this turnaround is Chris Johnston's doing.
His considerable spirit is represented through his excellent staff. From the caddies, wait staff and grounds crew, all the way up to the head pro\GM, a relaxed playful attitude, exudes the phrase 'have fun', and, permiates the massive grounds. The course has secrets to be revealed throughout its varied route and after not losing any balls one can easily appreciate how far the course has come, if they were there for its inaugural season. While the turnout suffered some last minute cancels, all who attended were ecstatic. This will become an annual event, so if you were on the fence, next year the chef is designing up something uniquely special.
