I haven't read the current version of the book but I did read an earlier draft which was about the same length. Its massive length is due to all the information on every club Flynn touched, almost a mini club history of each course, and with the more prominent clubs additionally you have a detailed tournament history. All that extraneous info takes away from what should be, I believe, the primary focus, Flynn and his architecture.
On the other hand it is on a disc, so I guess you could self edit it. But some day I'd like to see an actual bound volume on my book shelf next to other books on similar architects. Unfortunately in its present form The Nature Faker would be a multiple volume set and would take up an entire shelf, not unlike The Encyclopedia Britannica.
