FYI, for the Seniors they played 9 as a par 5 and 12 as a 4 for par 71, which was a change from the President's Cup. From the way back tee, 9 was long enough to be a 5 for them.

They called 9 a par 5 in the President's Cup also. 

Yes, that's right, it was 18 right? It was the AMEX when it was a 4 for par 70, right?

For $170 a round, I would expect near tournament conditions. Torrey Pines was able to do it, when I lived there a while back.

A fair argument, if that's what most players were paying.  But given the heavy slant towards city golfers who pay $61 weekends and $47 weekdays the average greens fee being paid at Harding is much lower.

I like Harding, but to me the price is right only if you're getting the city rate.  I can get the Northern California Counties rate but even that is still pricey compared to other local options.

A fair argument, but given the heavy slant towards city (San Diego) golfers who pay less than the Torrey tourists, the average greens fee being paid at Torrey is much lower.

Actually, the conditions at Harding are improving since TPC took it over.  not sure when Tim last played it.
