Given it's location (in the Black Country) it is in some respects at a hidden gem.
I actually prefer The Lodge course as 10 holes are cut of the woods once one cross over the road. Virtually no fairway bunkers and each is locked away it is serene.
The Highgate and other Lodge holes are very reminiscent of Surrey/Sunningdale ish type courses. Added to this is one the best practice facilities I have ever seen given the modest surroundings.
Worth a trip for sure.
