The foursome is complete, with two really trying to cure cabin fever (traveling from CT and NY)!  Thanks Tim and Jin.

If it was Saturday, I would have been there in a heartbeat, but Sunday is a no-go for me.  If there's another gathering in the next few weeks I'll be there for sure.

Twisted Dune was open last weekend, so I'm assuming MEGL is now as well.

Played Renault last weekend; only small areas of snow on some hills and in some bunkers.

Folks, I'm thinking we should try another Jersey Shore golf outing on either Friday or Saturday of next weekend.  Twisted Dune or McCullough's Emerald Links are possible venues.  I'm itching to play some winter golf.  Who would be interested?

Could not do Friday, but might be able to do Saturday.  Since I did TD late last fall, and now MEGL this weekend, I would like to revisit Seaview Bay.

I'm definitely in.

We could turn it into a GCA reported match if you'd like.

What is a GCA reported match?  I've never heard that term before, but it sounds awesome.

Joe, I'm guessing "Seaview Bay" is the Ross-designed Bay course at Seaview Resort?  If so, I can call today to book a time for next Saturday.  It looks like the twilight rates (after 12 pm) are very good.

Who will be in for sure?

Let's wait a bit and see if we can get a couple of foursomes.

Are you new to GCA?!  The Bay course's origin is still a bit unclear, IMO.  We do know Wilson and Ross were involved, and almost certainly others.

Sounds good.  Sorry about the lack of knowledge of Seaview's architecture history, I was just going by what's on the website (never a good idea, I know).  I'll be interested to learn more about the course in the next few days.

Hey Gang, I'd be up for a Winterfest round at Seaview next weekend. Keep me posted on the group (s) plan!
Cheers,

JNC,

We'd play a match that we'd report on here for the sake of evaluating the courses - and the relative weaknesses of our respective games!

I like that this is growing a bit. Would be nice to get a group together.

Kyle, that sounds great, and it'll be interesting to see how we deal Seaview with February golf swings.

So far it sounds like myself, Joe Bausch, Kyle Harris, and Kris Shreiner are definitely in, with Jason Mandel being a maybe.  We should be able to get at least two groups if a few more people are interested.  Reply or PM if you want in!

Next weekend at Seaview Bay is a real possibility for me.

Be nice to get back to see more of Hugh Wilson's work with friends.  ;)

Did the train run to Atlantic City in the early 1900s, and, if so, was H.H. Barker on it?

I'm surprised "Boardwalk Empire" didn't cover this!

Seriously though, hope you can make it next weekend Mike.  I also see a lot of response from the Philly crowd, but none from the Met area.  No excuses!
