o/t rule question.. Can we do this?
« on: February 06, 2011, 02:59:33 PM »
I have a rule query.

We have our Club championship qualifier on June 4th. It is an 18 hole medal competition.
There is the Help for Heroes qualifier deemed for same weekend of the 4th and 5th. The club submits the best 10 stableford scores from the competition.

Can I run the Club championship as a medal competition and present my 10 best stableford scores from those cards received?

Someone has said you cant run two different competitions together.

Adrian,
I'd see if the Help for Heroes event allows you to do that, or not.

Adrian,

The only prohibition in the rules is that you can't play in a stroke play and a match play event at the same time.  The Rule 32 states that Stableford is a form of stroke play so there should be no problem other than everyone has to hole out in the main medal competition so there would be no picking up as there usually is in Stableford.  There are some complications for penalties such as violations of the 14-club rule, but they can be worked out.

Sort of defeats the purpose of a Stableford competition but accomplishes your objective,
