What is the most boring premier golf course you have played?

The Slammer and The Squire at The World Golf Village

So boring I don't remember anything about it other than the feeling that I wasted some good time and money there.

I would have to say Bay Harbor in Michigan. OK, but certainly did not live up to all the hype about it.
Best Played So Far This Season:
Crystal Downs CC (MI), The Bridge (NY), Canterbury GC (OH), Lakota Links (CO), Montauk Downs (NY), Sedge Valley (WI)

For me there are 2 that really stand out Half Moon Bay Ocean course for the site very boring.
The other course is Sand Pines in Florence Oregon.

Anthony, interestingly enough that was my call sign in the Marines.  If the shoe fits, I guess.

Seriously, I think Rio Secco has to be up there.

I'll second Bay Harbor.  The recent renovations at Cog Hill have made it very boring.

I'd agree on Bay Harbor and the new and "improved" Dubsdread, but I'd brazenly throw Torrey Pines into the mix...

I don't know if this is "premier", but the University of New Mexico golf course. There are a very few courses I've played where I started forgetting holes shortly afterwards, but this was one.

Of course, remembering UNM might be all that remains soon, if the news is correct.

Matt,
What's the news about UNM? I work for the university and don't know of any plans, although I haven't really asked...PM me if you'd rather.

I don't think the course is great, although I'm not sure I would have thought it (or some of the other nominees) as premier in the first place. Dubsdread might be a winner, given its placement in a couple Top 100 lists.

The European Club.

Incidentally, it's no longer in a Google Maps "black hole" since the most recent upgrade. Search in Google Maps for "Ardanary, Ireland".

That it's way in debt and might close. Google, it's been covered in Golfweek and other places in the past couple of weeks.

Thanks...I tried searching before I posted but didn't come up until I included GolfWeek. Admittedly doesn't sound good.

Torrey Pines South - tough to create a boring course in that location.

Boring? That's not the word I'd use to describe The European Club.

I just can't relate to the question. I've played hundreds of courses all over the world over the past 54 years. I have never been bored on a golf course. When golf becomes boring (just once) I will quit the game.

Ditto, even the 54 years part, give or take a year.

Some courses are more interesting than others, but the fact that you are hitting golf shots while navigating your way around the course means it has to be interesting.

Ditto Half Moon Bay Ocean Course- never has less been done with more...LaQuinta Mountain underwhelmed me, as well

It's a gorgeous spot, for sure, but there are only so many 30-yard-wide fairways with hazards both sides you can look down before it becomes tired.

Agreed no such thing as a boring course, most disappointing is probably the accurate question but for many of us disappointing US top 100 courses come with an invite from a member and a gentleman would never criticise a hosts club in open forum.

Inverness is a mix, it has one of the best holes I've ever played - 7th, a hole I've played the best - 10th, in three rounds I've stiffed my second shot every round. The most out of place hole ever - 3rd and finally one of the more interesting and atmospheric holes - 18th, especially chipping and pitching at midnight, under floodlights with hickory clubs whilst avoiding the sprinklers.
