I wonder if any gca member has played the Country Club course at Sandy Lane in recent years?

There are some old threads on this site about the Green Monkey course but I'm more interested
in finding out more about the other Fazio layout.

I was in Barbados in 2004 and played at Barbados GC but didn't venture further up the west coast
to the posher part of the island from my more humble base near Oistins.

If anybody fears they may be seen to be publicly bragging about their golfing exploits in St James, Barbados
then by all means contact me by via PM or email me at my jim@top100golfcourses.co.uk account - I only
mention this because a couple of members chose this means of communication when I recently asked
for information about the course at Lyford Cay in the Bahamas.

Jim: I played it a couple of times six or seven years ago. Pretty average Fazio track, not particularly memorable. I can't recall any truly exciting holes. Green Monkey at least had the quarry, which made for a few quite intriguing holes.

LAst time I was ther eit was actually down to just 9 holes. That was during the construction of the new hotel (2000?) The course was entertaining enough and had some nice elevation change with the ninth being the only really, really good hole I can remember.

I played it a few times during a mid-winter break several years ago - I didn't play Green Monkey so can't compare, but I thought the Country Club course was perfect for 'rusty winter golf' - wide open, good conditions, rolling terrain as I recall - I don't recall any particular architectural highlights but do remember enjoying myself
