I'm not buying a bag, so take my opinion for what it's worth (probably not much), but since logo/branded merchandise is a large part of my day job, and after reading the ideas so far and seeing the design comps, I thought I'd at least offer the following:
The likelihood of a consumer wearing/using a branded/logoed product is often inversely proportional to the size of said logo, or the obnoxiousness of its presentation.
Of course here we are talking about a golf bag, which is something that there's not much choice in how often you wear it - once you put your clubs in it, you take it when you play golf. But maybe this impacts buying decisions or satisfaction with the product. I understand that you can't please everyone in something like this, and wish you the best in trying, but consider the below.
Ever notice which hats/shirts are the most popular in pro shops? Even at the nicest courses around? The smaller, understated ones. No matter how proud you are to be a member at or to have played at any given club, the vast majority of people prefer something less "in your face".
Would you rather wear a Merion hat that had the basket logo only in a handsome 1"x2" front-center embroidery , or one that had that same logo on the side with MERION in 84 pt all caps block letters across the front?
When you see member bags at golf clubs, usually it's the club crest/logo in a lower corner of the jacket pocket or ball pocket, and little more. Pine Valley doesn't put the shield on the valuables pocket and write PINE VALLEY across the side of the bag in airplane-sized lettering.
Even the version Jerry coordinated last time (in which I again did not partake) had a smaller rendition of the GCA logo - one that would not be able to be read by impatient players on the tee behind you waiting for you to clear the fairway.
Now, maybe I'm wrong and maybe the folks that are interested in a GCA golf bag do not share my sensibilities here. That is not out of the question since we are certainly different in one obvious way and that is that they are interested in carrying a GCA golf bag at all.
I think those that are asking for the clubs logo above are saying the same thing I am saying, just less clearly - giant, obnoxious text is...well...obnoxious. I think people will be happier with, and the end product will be much more tasteful with a more understated approach to the design.
It's your initiative, and on one hand that means that my opinion is completely irrelevant. But, on the other hand, since I am not buying one either way, you could consider me an unbiased (albeit uninvited) consultant giving an objective opinion with the goal of helping you arrive at the best final product for the greatest number of people.
