BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- With the design phase of The Cliffs at High Carolina complete, Tiger Woods has b een hands-on with putting his mark on the unique landscape that will be home to his first American golf course.
Woods was back in the High Carolina area on Saturday directing construction of the course as significant progress has been made in the grading and shaping of four of the holes.
"It was wonderful to see everyone at High Carolina again," Woods said. "We are creating an outstanding golf course in a spectacular setting. This will be a course that everyoner can enjoy from a beginning golfer to the skilled player."
While at High Carolina, Woods met with property owners and Cliffs founder Jim Anthony, describing his vision. Woods also emphasized his commitment to the North Carolina course that is inspired by 50-mile views along the slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
"I had a great trip to my first U.S. course and a lot of progress has been made since I was here last," Woods said. "What we are creating is special and my excitement grows with every visit."
