Put me down as love it, but only because it exists due to the great reverance that CB members have for their course.  This hole would get bulldozed in a heartbeat anywhere else.  Sounds like the CB folks have finally seen the light, as well.  Mainly, I'm commenting only to find out if I have been booted from the DG.

Among the members that I know, they would love to get rid of this hole .

Brian,

You know way more than I based on my single play.  My memory is of a blind, dog-leg par 3 playing  240 yards downwind.  One of guys I was paired with asked, “Is this the dumbest freaking hole you’ve ever seen?”  Or words to that effect.  Smack it over the dune, trudge around, and see what you got for Christmas.  Several holes at CB aroused my interest in quirk—14 (blind extreme green), 15, and 17 (where a herd of elephants or Vikings is buried in a monster mound right in the LZ off the tee.  After my round I struck up a conversation with a member in the bar and asked him about these quirky  features.  He told me that any proposed changes to the course was a very serious matter and would require the vote of the entire membership.  That impressed me because I thought that mound on 17 fw would never exist on an American golf course and, if it did, would be gone in a few hours work with a front loader and dump truck.  That’s the background for my comment.

Don’t remember who compared CB with Aberdeen, but I personally liked Aberdeen a bit more.  At the time I played both back to back, I was just adjusting my attitude to quirky links golf.  CB was my first blind date and I fell in love.  She’ll always be my sweetheart for quirk.  However, if any of treehouse gang ever show up around my neck of the woods here in Idaho, I can show you a couple of worthy rivals:  The Blue Lakes CC and the White Clouds nine at Sun Valley.

Anthony, my liver just belched “hello”.

I don't know how you guys find the time, even if I had anything interesting to add, which I doubt.  Our glorious 2 months of Fall golf seems to have come to drizzly, cool, windy end this week, however, so I may push my "post count" total toward triple digit status in the months ahead.  In season, we don't read and talk about golf, we play.  Or stay busy making sure others can do so.
