Pebble Beach History and Evolution Information
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:06:58 PM »
I am playing Pebble for the first time in a few weeks and really want to do my homework on the history and evolution of the course.  Can anyone recommend a good book/article/website? Thanks for the assistance.  Also playing Spyglass and working on MPCC, The Preserve and even a potential return to Cypress...

Neal Hotelling's book [listed just above] is outstanding!
If a player insists on playing his maximum power on his tee-shot, it is not the architect's intention to allow him an overly wide target to hit to but rather should be allowed this privilege of maximum power except under conditions of exceptional skill.

Kevin and George - Thank you! I will order it right away!  I figure during the 5 and a half hour round, i will have lots of time to take pictures and study features etc (along with trying to shoot a score and not lose my mind playing that slow...), want to capture as much of it as I can!
