The initial photo is fantastic.  The background full of people, all of whom have differing expressions alone wouldn't be a bad shot. 

How he got the shutter off in time is a small miracle.

Here was I thinking golf course architects were whole picture men!!  I couldn't find the cigar-toting head-case for a couple of minutes either!
