Patrick, what was the reason for leaving the 7th and 18th greens as is? Mike, there's been a tendency at Mountain Ridge to leave the course as it is.That tendency has resulted in the course not being disfigured over the last 80 years.Unlike the remaining greens at Mountain Ridge, they appear to lack pinning elasticity, with back right and front left being the only possible pin locations at the 18th and the center of the 7th being the only possible location.Increased green speeds over the last decade have created the problem. Both the 7th and the 18th are under consideration for modification. With respect to the 7th, there's an element that wants to restore the green to Donald Ross's field drawing and schematic circa 1929.ON # 18 there are a few thoughts, one is to simply rotate the green on its axis and reduce the effective slope to levels that will accomodate those green speeds.I like those ideas
