Pasatiempo has just announced that they're bringing in a large herd of workers to clear out the famous barrancas on the back nine, which should bring back some of the dramatic edges and definition that have been lost over the decades as the canyons have gotten overgrown. Turns out that the sides are just too steep for workers to effectively do the clearing, and the vegetation in the barrancas is a veritable goat buffet, so the club is giving it a try. The goats (over 100) should arrive around the end of the week, and will be there for a month or two, munching away under the watchful eyes of a couple of dogs with assistance from a solar fence. Should be fun to watch, I'll post a couple of pictures as things get rolling. Any others out there who has experience with "scape" goats on a golf course, or more bad goat puns, please chime in.
