Shoal Creek gets Champions Tour Major in 2011
« on: August 30, 2010, 03:44:26 PM »
Hadn't seen this on here yet, but Shoal Creek was awarded one of the Champions Tour's majors for 2011. Definitely a course that deserves a top event like this. Along with the news that the PGA Championship will likely be awarded to Quail Hollow, it's good to see championship golf in the South.

I'll echo these comments.  We went to Shoal Creek a couple years ago in the spring and just loved the place.  We also enjoyed Old Overton.

Will Glenn Beck & Sarah Palin have to hold a news conference there? or hit the ceremonial first ball?

Major? You mean the major that everyone loves to hate? The major without a home? The Regents Tradition? How can it be a tradition if it is a first timer to Shoal Creek. The Champions Tour should quit trying to shove this tournament down our throats as a major.

Everywhere it goes it runs out of support and out of a sponsor. Give it up folks!
