Downhill Finishing Holes

Most courses finish with an uphill or level hole because of the preference to locate the clubhouse on high ground.  Pine Needles is the only course I can think of off the top of my head with a downhill 18th hole.  Any others spring to mind?

In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

The 18th at Letterkenny (Donegal, Ireland) is a downhill par 5 over 500 yds, which starts at the highest point of the course and drops dramatically to an area level with the clubhouse. The clubhouse is in the centre of the property half way up the incline which begins at the banks of Lough Swilly. I believe the clubhouse was originally the main residence on what was the Barnhill Estate.

18 at Firestone (South) is markedly downhill.

Although I haven't played it, isn't the finishing hole at TPC Sugarloaf way downhill?

Essex County Club finishes with the short 4 uphill 17th and then the downhill 18th. Two very good holes on a course full of them.

The 18th at Carolina GC in Charlotte finishes downhill.  The upside is that from the lawn behind the clubhouse, on the hill above the 18th green, spectators have a good view of finishing play.  The downside is that after playing no. 18, golfers have a steep, albeit short, uphill climb back to the clubhouse.

Sutton Bay.

Dramatically (everything at Sutton Bay is dramatic!) downhill medium-length par-4, usually requiring a short-iron approach to a very wide, shallow green that mostly slopes front-to-back -- with a bunker front-left and an open approach on the right side

Plantation Course at Kapalua.  Also the par 5 finisher at the course in Atlanta where the Tour plays.  That's TPC Sugerloaf that Carr mentioned I think.

Maybe I should delete the thread because it's more common than I thought.

Beat me to that one. That's the one that comes to mind when I think of my Ohio. 122 feet from tee to green.

Do you ever get to rout a course before the clubhouse location is selected?  Put another way, is the clubhouse ever a byproduct of the course routing?

Another is the Hunting Course at Slaley Hall.  18 at Crail Balcomie is a slightly downhill par 3 from an elevated tee.

Do you think that wierd two tier fairway works well at S'down?  

Pennard's is also downhill, but I think the right to left slope sort of overides this fact. 

Cavendish also has a terrific downhill finisher.  The 18th at Notts is also a goodun'. 

A sneaky good one is Wallasey's. 

Still, comfortably the most unique (huh?) and favourite is Kington's.

Stanford University Golf Course has a beauty.  A long downhill par 4, with views of San Francisco and the entire Bay Area.  Famously used for "ice sledding" on ice blocks, by students throughout the years.
