Hershey Country Club Courses

Anyone have some good info on courses, places to stay, etc.  Playing in an event there next summer and was wondering about the courses, anything I should know, local knowledge.  Any info on the area and courses would be great.  Never been to this part of the country and I know people on here have the info I would need.  Also is Philly the best place to fly into?  Thanks in advance.

I particularly prefer the East Course to the West.  Its a solid challenge from the back tees and they have some great green contours.

As for the flights, you could fly into Harrisburg if you wanted and it would cut your drive down a good bit into the Hershey area.

Lance, I made a trip to the sweetest place on earth in August, 2008, I think.  I played all three courses that are part of the complex, the older Hershey West and Hershey East, and the much newer Hershey Links.  I enjoyed all three courses.

I stayed with my bride at the Hershey Hotel.  Very pricey, but fairly nice.  Their high-end "coat-and-tie" restaurant is probably worth a visit.  We actually preferred the more reasonably priced but quite tasty food at the Hershey Links clubhouse.

Flying into Philly works, but I would think you could get lucky to get into Harrisburg too.

Right on the 17th green of the East Course is a Hampton Inn.  Nothing trendy, but a great location, with a great breakfast place right across the parking lot!!!!
The East was one of the best courses on the Buy.com Tour in early 2000's.  The other courses are fun too, with some old fashioned quirkiness!

   Fly into Harrisburg. Baltimore is second choice.  I have never played the East but the West and the Links are both a lot of fun.

I particulary enjoyed the Links course last year. I've played East and West as well. As Joe mentioned, the food in the Links club house is very good. Nothing wrong with the famed circular dining room in the Hotel Hershey either. The new Hershey Lodge is a good place to stay if you don't won't to stay in the historic main Hotel Hershey.
