For those interested in Edinburgh Golf I attach two articles on the Braid Hills Courses circa 1922 for your information

Braid Hills Extension Article dated 24.01.1922  Note that a recorded 80,000 players have been recorded for 1921 with their current 8 months at 57,000. That seems remarkable noting that this was 3 years after the Great War. Other Scottish courses were closing never recovered from the war years.

The second article (14.03.1922) gives details on the two reconstructed courses showing the length, par and bogey for the holes on both courses.

Again in the article the Cluny Estates comes to light, for those who have forgotten it’s the name of the estates owned by Lady Cathcart of Askernish/South Uist fame. In 1900 she opened Collieston in the Askernish format of golfing, fishing and shooting lodges. The little town of Collieston is about 6 miles south of Cruden Bay.

thanks Melvyn, 80,000 rounds in 1922 is amazing stuff.  They played in gangsomes maybe.    :)   But who was recording it?
It's still going strongly.
