How steep to make them ?

How to construct them ?

And how to maintain them ?

Especially on sites where wind and rain are significant

Its completely situational.

Jaeger,

Thanks,

I'm familiar with Pavelec, but, design isn't their bailiwick.

Today, with design and construction, I'm not so certain that it's situational rather than contrived.

Jaeger,

As exhibit "A" I would offer "BAYONNE", where every aspect of that golf course was imported.

There was no "situation"

Every feature was crafted out of nothing, hence, the choice on bunker design was not dependent upon the land as it existed prior to the project.

Then, I think of GCGC and the almost completely random variety in the bunkers.

So, for me, the question remains, what goes into the thought process of the GCA when he crafts a hole and locates and configures his bunkers ?
