Belgrade Lakes
« on: August 19, 2010, 07:52:28 PM »
I played Belgrade Lakes in Maine last week and was quite impressed by the layout, scenery and conditions. Not overly long at 6700 yards from the tips but the greens were lightning and there were areas on the greens you did not want to be.

I thought it was one of the finest courses I've played in quite a while. A little out of the way for most (not me, I have a place about an hour north) but worth the trip.

It's been a number of years since I've played Belgrade.  It defines fun golf and the view from the clubhouse/practice green/first tee is priceless.  Simply a wonderful place to enjoy a wonderful game.

Played it last summer with my son.  Agree that it's well worth playing...Great condition, some very interesting greens and a solid, very scenic routing.

Golf is a game. We play it. Somewhere along the way we took the fun out of it and charged a premium to be punished.- - Ron Sirak

Graham Marsh, right?

I personally love Belgrade Lakes.  It's not world-class architecture, but it has a very high fun factor.   It's a perfect stop on a drive from the NE USA to Highlands Links in Nova Scotia.

Plus, whenever I've been there, the staff was fantastic.  No stuffy assistant pros there!
