If we did that, we'd probably fall short of our goal o make each golf course better than the last because the ideas would be stale. Or, we might be tempted to make something happen on a site that shouldn't be happening there, and that could be even worse. As golf designers, we do need to have as much knowledge as possible and allow that knowledge to inform our work as long as we keep our eyes open and look for the distinct differences on every piece of property, the details that can make a golf course unique among its kind.
