From Graham Spiers "The Spike Bar" column in the 22 July issue of The Times:
"My goodness, what an exhilarating experience. Let me be bold about this to a point of risking hyperbole. Castle Stuart is the best golf course I have ever played - and I have played ‘em all, including Muirfield, the Old Course and Augusta National.
A bit like Kingsbarns, it is the natural topography and the sweeping setting that makes Castle Stuart so spectacular. There are a bunch of thrilling holes which hug the water’s edge of the Moray Firth, and others that are up “on the shelf”, from where, quite apart from the golf, the views over to Black Isle to the north and to Inverness and Beauly back west are simply stunning. I found the whole experience utterly breathtaking."
