For you "out-of-towners" I'll be happy to attend this function as your proxy and bid on your behalf.  ;D

Yes. It is obviously a typo.

I bet it doesn't...here's my thinking...someone with the $25 large to spend will already know someone who can get her/him on the ANGC.  My guess is 12,500

On our recent trip to the US, we had an opportunity to get onto Augusta, but it was going to cost a donation, in the preliminarary stages, we rationalized by assigning an amount we would be willing to pay for a once only 18 holes, per hole. I.e. Would you pay $100 per hole for example, for the rest of your days watching the Masters on TV in the early hours of the morning?

Let's see, there's 1,500 on this board give or take.  We each throw in $20 and have a drawing for a foursome.  Or I'm sure we could think of a handful of guys on this site who have gone above and beyond in sharing their clubs with their GCA brethren and say a collective "thank you" to them!  The only drawback I see would be agreeing on which four would get to go, assuming we would be able to get the job done.

I know it's a bit far fetched......

Really, how do we know its ANGC? The accommodations are on the grounds of East Lake, so ANGC would be a 3 hour drive each way. I'm far less than certain the course in question is ANGC.

I played it twice, believe me, it is not worth alot of money.

Greens are very fast if you get above the hole, but they are never tournament fast except for the Masters

Is it worth $500, yes. Above that, I don't know.

It is different playing it than watching it from the gallery. From the sides, you really don't get the shot values.
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Come on, not worth $501 to play Augusta....really?  Is it the best course we all jib-jab on this site about, no, but as a golfer I cannot imagine a better way to splurge on a golf experience.  IF there is a experience worth a crazy cost its Augusta.  If Pebble, Whistling Straits and Pinehurst #2 are worth $500 then Augusta is worth lots more.

What you want to bet, Jed?

If it's ANGC how about you cover one of my caddy fees at the Kings Putter in March?
