Get the Juices Flowing - St. Andrews
« on: July 12, 2010, 12:44:52 AM »
I don't usually get too excited for pro golf tournaments, but when they're at St. Andrews that is an exception.  What a special place that is!  Here are a few of my pictures from the course.  Let's see some of your favorites as well.

That's a good one of the Valley of Sin, Brent.

Paging Kyle Henderson - his pics of the place are incredible.

Nice Eden hole pic - one of the best par threes in golf.

A magical place.  When my father and I played it three summers ago, we decided against taking pictures in order to just focus on the course and the experience, since we didn't know if or when we'd pass that way again.  I can't wait to watch the tournament this weekend; it's quite possibly my favorite tournament of the year (Ryder Cup notwithstanding) because I can go out and play golf after it's done for the day.  Perfect.

The only thing that would make it better would be a special scheme for St. Andrews where in the event of a playoff, those tied for the lead after 72 holes head to the Himalayas and have a putting contest to decide the Champion.  That would bear enough quirk befitting the Old Course for sure!  ;D

There is no more magical place on the planet.

I'm going to get my fog-shrouded pics from 1985 scanned and hope to post them shortly.

chariots of fire was on cable the other night.Love the St Andrews beach running scenes and especially when they break off in front of the R and A.Only a few hours until first times.Saw the British Air flight take off from dfw a little while ago.It was tempting to wake up in Britain tomorrow.
