I am newly registered at GCA
« on: June 29, 2010, 04:47:22 PM »
I am newly registered at GCA after several years of active lurking. ;D  I have had a 35 year love affair with golf and decided the other day to stop just lurking and start participating at GCA.  I have enjoyed the many informative threads and associated insight while reading the GCA forums for the past several years.  It is my hope that I can bring some interesting commentary to the community in the years to come.  I live in the northeast Colorado town of Sterling and enjoy golf on all different types of courses and have played  in most geographical regions of the United States, Ireland, and England.

Welcome, have fun, don't be shy.

The man is a stones throw from Ballyneal! What are you bringing up Colorado Club for?

Michael, you must be a friend of Scott Szabo.  A couple of weeks ago I was going through Sterling en route to Ballyneal, with a suddenly inflamed ingrown big left toe.

Luckily I had contacted Scott via email the night before for a hopeful referral to a podiatrist.  Luckily he referred me to Dr. Dallege (Darren?), who squeezed me in and fixed me up.  Sterling is a great little town!

I hope you get to Ballyneal as often as possible, great place and course.

Welcome to GCA.com!

Mike-Welcome. Bill-that`s a heck of a big toe story.  There are not many people who at one time or another don`t need the # of a Colorado podiatrist.  :)

Bill - Scott, Darren and I play quite a bit of golf together in Sterling.  If you come through again in the future let me know we have a fun little 1921 parkland course in Sterling and of course Ballyneal Golf & Hunt Club is just around the corner.

Garland--obviously NOTHING sucks about Ballyneal, so Mike had to defer to CGC, doat!

New Michael...welcome to the nut house cast...we knew that someone was peeking through the windows, so it's good to identify the face.  As Pazin said, hold nothing back (I think that Bagger Vance says it as well.)  Enjoy the debate, accept any mistakes and tolerate/embrace the fervor.

Atta Boy Michael.

BTW, Rupert likes to dig us Nebraska folk by saying the wind doesn't b;ow in Colorado, Nebraska sucks. Since joing the Big Ten, I believe we've had a change in that direction.

Are the Colorado fans as excited about joining the Pac 10? Everyone, on both sides of the trade are excited about Nebraska.

Welcome Mike - glad to have you on board.

A couple of bits of wisdom if I may - do not, I repeat, do not ever bring up the prevailing winds at Sand Hills (Mucci has way to much fun with this the way it is - no need to add fuel to the fire).

And don't mention the short little putt for birdie that Huckaby missed on #4 at Sand Hills - he gets a bit testy about that one.  Quite a story behind it from what Gene had to say.  All in good humor though.

"So your man hit it into a fairway bunker, hit the wrong side of the green, and couldn't hit a hybrid off a sidehill lie to take advantage of his length? We apologize for testing him so thoroughly." - Tom Doak, 6/29/10
