Hey in the end either way works. I remain convinced that particularly coming from Monterey, getting out to I-5 and going that way would get one there the fastest... but yes, 101 is clearly a much nicer drive. So again it all turns on how much time they have and what their goals are. There is a lot to see - and several courses to play - if one wanted to do it that way. But all time doing that is time taken away from potential rounds at Bandon, so choose with eyes open. One does not want to miss those rounds.
As for Santa Teresa, those past champions are a true let-down these days.
