Great video - I am stoked for my trip there in July - esp since it'll be in addition to BN and SH (hopefully - looking good on that).

Having never been to this part of the world - but having heard many stories - I just cannot wait to see the quality of the golf.

I am amazed at what they have on the ground at PC before the resort has even opened - 36 + the HORSE with 18 on the way.

Looking fwd to detailed photos and commentary about the courses!

The Pines course looks very unique to the other courses in the prairie region. Golfweek also had some interesting articles which I assume will pop up online this week.

Mike, the Pines course (and Valentine) are unique to the region because of the trees and the topography.

Only on the surface is your observation about the other courses accurate. Each one is completely different than the others, when put under the microscope.

Understood. I have only played Sand Hills and Wild Horse which are obviously different and I love both.

I am a sucker for Pine Valley style courses, and the Pines seems very unique with holes running in and out of the trees. Just from afar, it seem to have a little Friars Head, Cypress Point and Piping Rock with vistas that are unique to the region.

Probably won't get there for some time, but that is not due to a lack of desire.

Mike, Wish I could appreciate your analogies to those courses better, but, I haven't played them so I can't.

After touring both courses at PC last fall, I came away feeling a majority of golfers would prefer the Pines course. That opinion was based on how people feel about Spyglass over Pebble, and what Tyler, the GM at PC, said about the even split of people who prefer which course there. He sited the purists types as preferring the Dunes. Purists are fewer, so that was key in my conclusion.

Adam, how would you describe a "purist?"  And, why would they like the Dunes better?  Thanks.

Tony, Those weren't my words. As I understood the gist, he was referring to someone who appreciates the rugged look of blowout bunkers, and/or the openness the Sand hills region provides. He may very well have been referring to people who get pigeonholed because they visit this web site. Ya know, Tree haters.  ;)
