Anthony, thanks for posting these , as a Super myself its great to read what you guys are up to in the warmer climate, and your members must like keeping up with whats going on , keep up the good work , i will keep checking in from time to time if thats ok i am always keen to learn  the agronomics all over the world.

Here's another really good one from Chris Tritabaugh at Northland Country Club, a sweet Ross that overlooks Lake Superior in Duluth, Minn.

I think it is really informative.

From the perspective of a communicator, I love the super blogs because the good ones explain not only what is being done, but why it is being done. I think it reduces the number of members that bitch about what is being done or that claim that the super is a clown.

Thanks to someone mentioning that Skokie CC having a Golf Course Maintenance Blog last week while they were hosting the Western Am, I've become very interested in these Blogs that various Superintendents have started and maintain. They really are a fantastic learning tool for anyone interested in golf courses and also a neat way to see the same courses in different lights. Most of the blog owners keep their website stacked with current pictures. It's also neat to note that many of these blogs show GCA as one of their "favorite" websites.

I was going to start a new thread but saw that Anthony had already started one a few months back that I missed.

I do a weekly e-mail that goes out to all the members. My blog is pretty basic, and I use it to link the reader from the weekly e-mail blast to more in-depth information. I sometimes go many weeks without updating the blog, but I never miss sending out the weekly e-mail.

Not only do I find course maintenance blogs and the like interesting and informative but, as a club member, the fact that a Super, Course Manager, Head Greenkeeper or Curator or whatever title the top course maintenance person holds, is prepared to be open about their trade and the work they and their staff are undertaking gives me a great deal of confidence in those looking after courses. This website is handy because you can check the latest postings from superintendents. Its broken down by geographical region with the most recent posts at the top.  Not only that but you also have access to latest greenskeeper magazines and the latest twitter feeds.

www.cdgaturf.org contains a weekly scouting report prepared by the CDGA in house agonomist which collects data from around the area and comments on problems/trends.  It also reports on current research and contains links to other blogs.  Very informative.
