A Call for a Few (More) Good Men
« on: May 06, 2010, 07:55:13 PM »
The first Bandon trip May 13th-16th is booked out with 60 players but a few spots have now become available for the second Bandon trip May 27th-May 30th.

The cost is $2,440 per person and includes:

*Four rounds of golf (Bandon Dunes on May 27th in the afternoon, Pacific Dunes & Bandon Trails on May 28th, and Old Macdonald on May 29th)
*Three nights in the Chrome Lake Lofts at Bandon Dunes (Chrome Lake Rooms available for a $90 supplement)
*All meals (3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 3 dinners)
*Transfers to and from North Bend Airport
*Caddy fee and base gratuity at Old Macdonald
*One guide
*All taxes and gratuities

Tom Doak and I are dueling it out in a real match play pillow fight with hickory clubs on Old Mac. Apart from that crime against nature 8), the trip will be a blast and we have a nice, relaxed group going in late May.

I hope you can join in and round it out.

Cheers,

Patrick_Mucci

Will you be on the May 27th-May 30th Trip ?

Wow...just confirmed for four days in Lake Tahoe for May 29 - June 1.  Sorry Ran, can't do it.  Would have said yes just to say hello to Pat Mucci.

Current airfares from Sydney to San Fran are about $500 each way.

It's tempting.
Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

I just choked on my drink, that is quite cheap. It is mighty tempting, but being a student (and therefore with no expendable income) in the middle of his thesis, sadly, it just won't work.

I'll chip in $50 if anyone wants to join me in sponsoring Andy.

Ran

Your trip sounds like a blast!

There are probably a good number of folks in the same camp as me - highly interested but had a trip booked for Bandon for a year or so in anticipation of Old Mac's opening. I think a fair number of us are arriving on the 29th or the 30th. Anyway to conduct the match play event with Doak on one of those last nights of your trip in order to maximize the gallery?

I am so psyched to be going on this trip! I will be traveling with my college roommate, a GCA member but non-poster. I have given him two reading assignments so far: Dream Golf: The Making Of Bandon Dunes (an absolute must read) and The Evangelist Of Golf.  That should have him properly prepared for the golf.

Hi assignment during the flight will be The Confidential Guide :)

So...if there is still space and the flights from Japan work out, I'll make the trip.  Will be in need of caffeine or something stronger for the jet lag.

It's going to take a long day in a middle seat from Tokyo and a drive from Portland, but my inaugural GCA trip is booked.  I'll be there for opening day as well.

Looking forward to meeting those making the journey.  I'll pack a few bottles of sake just in case anyone else is thirsty.   ;)
