Believe it or not that actually is lower than I expected.  My memory is fuzzy but I seem to remember from prior events they could stretch it out to as long as 7800.  Anyone know what the absolute tips are on TOC?

Clearly the wind will be a huge factor on scoring, if there's a solid breeze all 4 days, this might be one of the most entertaining professional events of the next 5 years.  If it's relatively still, scary to say, but a 7500 yd par 72 really isn't that intimidating to the pros anymore.

That's to the middle of the back tees.  All the way back it's over 8k yards.  A few years back, I played it one club-length of the back on the very back tee.  It was one of those rare days with hardly a whisp of wind.  I had one of the best ball-striking rounds of my life and shot a 99 with only one par (on No. 2 with a spiffy up and down).  I couldn't reach two fairways.  From all the way back, it's a beast.

I spoke to Pete about it a few years back and he never intended it to be played all the way back.  He built it mostly to give multiple course set-up options depending on the weather conditions.  But, he did mention that he saw equipment changes coming so he wanted to make sure the course would never become obsolete...
