Unfortunately, the idea that the impact to the golf course would be minimal proved to be mistaken, because even with creative re-routing that utilized all of the existing greens, six of the best holes were adversely affected or outright eliminated due to the overall loss of golf course width.
I also should mention that I really have no definitive understanding whether the site actually housed Nike Missiles. Perhaps one of our military history experts may know more about this particular Battalion and how they were armed? Thanks for any insight.
