You have to remember that at one point Pittsburgh was the Silicon Valley of the United States--a center of industrial innovation, a creator of huge wealth, a locus of power. Rolling Rock was a creation of that era--exclusive, low key, private, where the money was. I have not been there for a long time, but if it's like the rest of the old line clubs in Pittsburgh (Fox Chapel, Oakmont, Sewickley, Duquesne, to name a few) it still has that aura. A little step back in time, to when some things were much better, and some a lot worse.
