Photo tour of my trip to GA,NC,SC

Just got back from my trip to the southeast US,played 9 rounds in 8 days in 3 states, so thought I would share some pictures and thoughts for those interested, won't get into too much detail as most of these courses have been discussed thoroughly before.

We started our trip in Atlanta, the highlight there was definitely East Lake, first time meeting anyone from GCA which was a great experience, the course, clubhouse, caddies and playing partners all made for an amazing day.

After Atlanta we headed to Tobacco Road, played my best round of the trip there, didn't think it was as tough as it looks if you play the right tees and play smart, definitely a course everyone should play at least once.

Pine Needles was next, it was easily the most enjoyable course of the trip for me, could play it over and over again.

The next day was Mid Pines and #2, I spent a lot of time debating if I should spend the money to play #2 but decided to do it as I might not be back for awhile, the greens were a lot of fun, similar to East Lake the overall experience was great, that said I wouldn't pay the full green fee again.

Our next stop was the Ocean course, the caddy said it was a 4 club wind, I didn't believe him until my well hit 8 iron went 100 yards or so.
Would love to take another crack at this one, difficult but a lot of fun at the same time.

We finished our trip at Aiken GC, was looking forward to Aiken after all the great reviews on here, and it didn't disappoint, quality no frills golf at a great price, didn't hurt that we had the course to ourselves on Masters Sunday either.

Looks like a great trip and you got some great weather. I have not had that good weather on a trip in ages.

The weather was perfect, day time highs between 75-90 the whole trip, the pollen was awful though

Ryan,

Great photos.  Those are some really good tracks.  What makes No. 2 special in your mind?  I've always wanted to play there.

Ryan,

That looks like a great trip! Hopefully you will make it to Sagebrush in August as well!

I noticed a pic of Jordan Wall scurring across a bunker. Do you kinow how he happened to be in the Carolinas this time year?

Thanks guys! It was my first trip out east so wanted to make the most of it, not making it to Cuscowilla was the only disappointment, oh well just another reason for a return trip. It was also my first exposure to Donald Ross, it's a shame we have nothing of his to play out west, really enjoyed his stuff.

Brent, I would say the greens make #2 special, don't have an exact reason but I've always had the urge to play there since my younger years.

Scott, Tobacco Road is definitely worth the trip just get an early tee time, the afternoon was painfully slow

Bob, Matt, I'm definitely in for Sagebrush, would also like to squeeze in Tobiano, Predator Ridge and possibly the Kelowna G&C.C.

Mac, thanks again, hope you can make it out for Banff/Jasper sometime!
