I saw some original routings (not by C&C) that did NOT go into the flat area - but rather around it and then continued out the East side into the Big Moving dune.
It certainly appears that Bill & Ben are great strategists in incorporating lesser areas of a new tracks ground into the best or better part: Bandon Trials and Friar's Head - and now Lost Farm.

I think it has great potential, but there was still a bit of work going on thru those holes when I was there, looking forward to getting back there in May.

I just don't understand why they need to put footballers playing on the new course pics up on their website/facebook - such a w...

I've only made the assumption that its Reiwolt and Goddard, it wasn't advertised as such.  It certainly looks like them wouldn't you say?

I was fortunate enough to see the course today.

It is certainly a wonderful course.

After a big walk, the impressions I'm left with are -

Great idea with maintaining consistency of fescue plantings through the whole course, as with Barnbougle Dunes
Lost farm possesses a wealth of great greensites, and wonderful movement in the greens
Great, imaginative green shapes - putting and chipping will be fun
Bunkering is often a little removed from the green surface
The routing ensures wind comes at you different ways during the round
There is a vast amount of fairway width, and great variety in approach angles
Bill Coore & Mike Keiser are two of the most delightful people one could meet

Opening may be October, may be December.
I'd start booking now for a pre-Christmas round.

Two of the three best courses in Australia are now in Bridport.

MM,
I didn't get in and around to 13 green site and only seen 13a from a distance as it was getting late.

How do they compare to some of the others (specifically 10 & 4), the wall of the massive dune ridge down the RHS of 13 feels great, perhaps a reminder of #2 at Nat Moonah, but way bigger and steeper and closer.

How were fairway turfing going on 1,2,7 &16 - they did not have total cover when I was there - excited to be back there in May though.

I tend to agree with most of your observations, and LF has one up on BD with the deeper land and the opportuinty to route in all points of the compass, sometimes Barny can feel like a long way into the breeze when you turn at 5.
Cant wait - they were talking Sept Oct - has that now been pushed to Dec?
