Hope it all works out for the members and new investors.

I didn't know Tom only designed one desert course?

Great news Peter,

I would have been terrible to see it close definitely.  I hope you can stay there for a long time.  I wish I could have played with you when I went last year.

Best of luck to you and the team.

Cheers.

Adam,

The article didn't include Apache Stronghold.  That makes 2 desert courses.

I love Stone Eagle.  :)

Now that SE has reopened at on a deeply discounted cost basis and backed by deep pockets and an enthusiastic core group of continuing members, there is no doubt of its future success, IMO. What a delight ! HURRAH !!

If the number in the article is correct ($12M), I think that's a rounding error for Charles Koch, just by himself.

Sounds like it will remain private. Hopefully they will allow some open tee times or hook up with a resort for some access. Maybe be part of the Hope tourney. I love the course and hope it gets the recognition it deserves.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

Tim,

In all seriousness, why would they do that? Its private for a reason.

I think it is a shame that only a few people will ever get to see this layout if it continues to stay private.

Uh, do you feel more strongly about this than how the same concept relates to other private courses?

I mean we all should have the opportunity to play Augusta, Cypress Point and Pine Valley too, according to such logic...

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

Not at all...I think it's a shame that only a very few will never have the opportunity to see, let alone play, a number of amazing courses/properties in the U.S.
