From what I know of SC golf, which admittedly is primarily limited to the coast, it looks very solid.

It is interesting that of the Barefoot courses, the Dye course is ranked while the Love course isn't.  They are clearly the best two of the four, but often reversed in order.
"Golf...is usually played with the outward appearance of great dignity.  It is, nevertheless, a game of considerable passion, either of the explosive type, or that which burns inwardly and sears the soul."      Bobby Jones

Is this Whitaker's ranking?  If so, Im ok with it.  Everything that guy does is gold.  IT'S GOLD JERRY!!!
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Not sure about HT as #1...but the rest of the list is somewhat decent I suppose. One man's opinion?

One man's opinion?

Pat,

These rankings reflect in large part one man's considerable time and effort in doing the organizing of the panel and compilation of the result but the opinions are those of a fairly large number of golfers, as outline in this quote pulled from the above-linked web site...

Quote
Structure: The Panel consists of up to 100 male and 28 female members, 8 of which serve as Regional Directors. Approximately 32 Panelists are chosen from each of the following geographical regions: the Upstate, the Midlands, the Low Country, and the Grand Strand. The governing body of the Panel is its Board of Directors, consisting of the eight Regional Directors plus two at-large members.

Qualifications For Membership: Membership in the Panel is by invitation from its Board of Directors. The membership consists of individuals interested in promoting the game of golf in South Carolina and who agree to abide by the bylaws and rules of the Panel. Any member of the Panel may nominate an individual for membership and that nomination shall be presented to the Board by a representative of the prospective member's region. Vote is by a simple majority of the Board. Playing ability is not a qualifying factor for membership in the Panel, but knowledge of South Carolina courses and appreciation of course design are factors. Members must meet eligibility standards set by the Board.

Categories of Membership:

    1) Golf Industry - individuals with a direct or indirect connection to the golf industry.

    2) Players & Coaches - individuals with noted skill at playing, teaching, or coaching.

    3) Media - indivduals who cover the game of golf for one or more media outlets.

    4) Business & industry - individuals who utilize golf within the business community.

Total membership is currently limited to 128, with approximately 25% of the panel representing each of the four categories above.

I'm sorry...I didn't see that!
