If you've paid any attention to the posts and the posters of golfclubatlas over a period of time you've undoubtedly come across a website or two along the way that stands out among the many out there as one of your favorites. It's cool how so many of the folks who post here have their own sites, or blogs, where often you'll find their passions for both golf and/or golf architecture on display a little more in depth than with the typically succinct nature of a post (sans Gib Papazian
) or series of posts on gca.com.
I wanted to make a thread about the stand out sites, really one in particular for me, that I have come across that really fits the bill in the definition above for the word passion. 'Enthusiasm' is used twice above in this definition and when I think of enthusiasm I don't think negative at all, do you?
Rob Rigg's site is as good as it gets imo. He has passion covered in spades. And his site is the good passion type. Uplifting. It isn't dismissive of others - no snob appeal. If you're really about the good, why bother talking about the bad? The Walking Golfer is Passionate with a capital P. He's also put a lot of work into it you'll see as you click around in there.
A great site and though we've never met personally I'm very comfortable in saying that RR is a great guy. Check it out if you haven't already:
http://www.thewalkinggolfer.com/ even a GREAT logo!
I hope some of you will also share a favorite or two of yours; there's plenty of others for sure.
P.S. No back room deals with Rob here. Strictly a fan!
