Mrs.?

I suppose I deserve that.

But yes, I am in.  My wife is a non-golfer of the non-iest sort.

Sounds good, count me in. I will be riding. If any other places are added like Pajaro or someplace else add me also as I will probably stay the weekend in the area.
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

I believe the "Mrs." was a tyop from an earlier life.

Wish I could be there, man I love that course.  "The best nine holes in golf?"  The back nine at Pasatiempo.

It's pretty good, but I might rank it behind the front 9 at Ballyneal or the back 9 at Ballyneal. Perhaps you will agree by the year's end.

I am looking forward to Ballyneal in June, but Pasatiempo will remain #1 nine holes no matter what.  There is something magical, sort of like Brigadoon, about the routing and interweaving of the wondrous holes on that back nine.

I too wish I could join you. Bill McBride is "bang on" about the back nine at Pasa being possibly the best ever. Just think of combining that with the front nine at Royal St Georges!!

By the way, if any of you are coming up to Vancouver for the Olympics, you may as well bring your clubs. It has been near 50F here for all of January, and other than a few rain out days, the courses around here are very busy. I went down to my home course yesterday at lunch and it was very playable and busy, the mowers were out and all were happy, except me as I had to go back to work.

I'd rather not hear about ticker tape from those employed by bailed out financial "institutions."

You'll get a pride parade at best >:( ;D

I know you guys will have a wonderful day out and Pasa is an awesome golf course.

That said, am I to understand that a 36-hole day there is now $330? I've paid that much for courses that were no better but still.

Sweet mother, could 2005 have been that long ago...

Those are the going rates, sadly so. Even sadder is they are not that out of touch with other, lesser, nearby courses.

The good news remains that Pasatiempo gives a very nice discount to NCGA members, and if you are not local, heck just join the NCGA and you still save money.

But such is golf, and such is REALLY NorCal golf....

I don't understand some of the nicknames. For example, any remaining manlyness in me was extricated on Friday. Some abbreviated research will lead you to Huckaby's, and more importantly Benham's monikers.

Perhaps you can name the outing the "THE 1st annual Spring Beard Pull, brought to you by JP Morgan & friends"...or thereabouts. Topics would include, but are not limited to:

- why MacKenzie chose to live on such a lousy golf hole
- Ballyneal, schmallyneal
- hey Jim.....does Jamie Dimon have access at Chicago GC...
- what do my emasculation and the white sand at Pasatiempo have in common
- USC football, a look at the Paul Hackett era by Huckaby
You'd make a fine little helper. What's your name?
