What a great time seeing everyone last night at the Philly GCA winter event.

Thanks for Tom letting us use his barn and thanks to Joe to putting it together.  Thanks to Lester, John, and Kelly for their insightful discussions.

My first Philly cheese steak in 10+ years today at Reading Terminal Market in downtown Philly for lunch today, man what I have been missing!



The speeches were video taped but I am sure some editing has to be done before making them public ;D

Coupla obs:

Bond is such a sex god.

Earnest young men in thick-framed glasses do nothing for the marketability of our favourite subject. Will you guys get some Contacts, or better still, get Lasered!

 The second photo shows Archie Struthers on the left in the blue shirt with John Gosselin behind him wondering why he left Rolling Green, a Doak 7 in the Confidential Guide he is reading for Aronimink which is only a 6. ;D
 His eminence, Bill Vostinak (redanman) is leaning on the back of the loveseat. And the man in the checkered sweater is a sane non gcaer named John Capers. He is a "weighty" member of Merion.
 Geoff Walsh, a keeper of the Cobbs Creek flame, is back left with Mike Cirba and then Eric Pevoto to his right. Mike Trenham's dad is seated with the jacket and sweater.

Thats Mike Mayday Malone on the couch with the green sweater....he and I had just been out back of the barn being beaten with wicker baskets for our 9 out 10 rating of Merion...its 10 of 10 or no soup for you!

 I'm actually being berated by Wayne Morrison, also on the couch, for some stupid Flynn comment I made five years ago :) Alex Stavrides is now leaning on the couch. Jerry Kluger is just to my left. Carl Bernetich is standing to the left near the Pine Valley routing, probably the closest he has ever been to the course ::) Adam Messix is seated in the corner; where's his duncecap?

  You can see that the tomato pie was going to waste in the cardboard box to my left. If I had stayed there instead of leaving for the Eagles game I would have finished it myself.

 The highlight of these evenings is that the first question comes from the second floor where Tom Paul hangs out. It sounds like the voice of God  ;D

Actually, Tom Paul didn't attend.  

Since leaving GCA, he simply pre-recorded some questions and witty banter, put them on a timer on the stereo upstairs, left the door open for us, and the rumor I heard is that he went to some den of iniquity called "The Pleasure Dome" while the bunch of us used his barn for more staid, if admittedly more boring purposes.  

Very Byronesque of him, I'd say.
