New Super at Potomac
« on: January 06, 2010, 06:44:41 PM »
With the senior PGA committed to the TPC Potomac next fall Potomac has recently replaced its superintentent with one with a rather marquee background.  This from the director of golf....

Stephen Britton has accepted the position of Golf Course Superintendent at TPC Potomac.  Stephen comes to Potomac with a world class background in agronomy which includes time at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club and Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

Bodes well for Potomac....

The golf course definitely needs some work...Back in Sept it was in below-average condition--and that may be putting it nicely for several of the holes.  I'm not a huge fan of the golf course design--in fact, I think it's awful, but a good sup could at least restore some playabilty for some of the holes...

Congratulations to one of the more passionate guys in the industry - this guy eats and breaths it.  Congratulations, keep it green and burn those stripes in  ;D

I had the pleasure of working with Steve in his formative years and the guy has certainly come along way from his initial days of filling sandbins in the far western paddock at RM  ;)  Well done Steve and looking forward to some big things out of Potomac in the coming years
