Gents:

Registration requests are now being accepted for the 2010 Golf Club Atlas Ballyhack Invitational, set for April 17-18.  The event will include golf, lodging, meals, a favor, and a great Q&A with Lester George, Jonathan Ireland, and Billy Bobbitt.

While the event officially begins Friday night with golf on Saturday and Sunday, accommodations for early arrivals (or later departures) may be made. For more information and/or to sign up, please see http://tinyurl.com/yanlrlv.

Our field is limited to twenty or fewer players.  The first twelve RSVPs may stay on-site; registrants after that may stay at a fantastic hotel just a couple of miles away.  Cost information and schedule specifics may be found at the link above.

Payment details will follow for those who make the field.  The event promises to provide a fantastic golf experience at a truly one-of-a-kind site and great fellowship and discussion.  Bring your cameras AND your A Game.

Please let me know if you have questions.  I look forward to seeing some of you at Ballyhack in a couple of short months.

Everyone--

Beg, borrow, or steal to make it to this event.  The golf course it spectacular and I am sure the accommodations are excellent.  I will have to make it down there another time on my own, as the Generals will hopefully be grinding away in pursuit of our third straight ODAC title at Bay Creek in Cape Charles, VA.  I just want to put in a plug for the event.

Also, on the way to or from Ballyhack if you're coming from the north, I would recommend stopping by the Greenbrier and having a look at Lester's restoration/renovation of Raynor's Old White course there.

Cheers.

Wade, what a great offer.  One of the great things about GCA.  I wish I could do it, but I'm not able this year.

Doh!  Bad timing for me unfortunately - assuming all goes well, I'll become a father for the first time about 3 days before that!

We've got an airport in Roanoke...I'll even pick you up!

I'll be posting a current list of attendees later today.

Wade,

I'm interested, but blocked from your URL during the day.

You may want to offer alternative ways to register, if possible.

Thanks!

Mike:

Thanks.  I'm sorry about the trouble.  I'm using Google Docs to compile registration; perhaps the TinyURL forward is causing an issue.

Try the following: http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dFJLcWpsVC13QURxbDc2Q1hxc3U2Tmc6MA.

If that doesn't work, a message or email to me will save your spot, and I can reply with a request for more information.

Wade --

There are companies/organizations that block people from accessing google docs (and web-based email like gmail, and some image hosting sites so some GCA threads from work don't have the photos show up).  I know this because my old employer did so.

God willing, I, a second chaperone and 20 teens will have returned the day before from three days in Asturias, Spain.  Probably wouldn't be able to up and go to Roanoke for 54 holes of golf.  Good luck to all.

Gents:

I have posted RSVPs for review (please see http://web.me.com/wadewhitehead/Ballyhack/Welcome.html).  Those who have registered should check for accuracy and reply with corrections or suggestions.

Four spots remain.  We plan to finalize registration within the week, so I encourage any all and interested parties to contact me.

Thanks very much.

Wade

PS I apologize again to anyone who has had trouble accessing the mentioned site.  Some filters just don't seem to like MobileMe sites.

I am interested in the verdict of the group relative to the many other courses discussed on the site.  I have been lucky to play Ballyhack.

Gents:

I will be emailing those who RSVPed to the Ballyhack outing to confirm your participation and specific plans.

I do not have contact information for Justin Broderson or Chris DaSilva.  Justin and Chris (or anyone that has contact information), please send this to me quickly.

Carl, I also look forward to discussion that will follow our outing.  I think Ballyhack will leave quite an impression on our colleagues lucky enough to make the trip.  I know there will be plenty of good photos, many of which will be shared here I'm sure.

Thanks to all.

Gents:

If you're coming to Ballyhack, you should been contacted by the club by now.  If you haven't, please send me a message including your email address so I can pass your information to Jonathan Ireland and his staff.

There are still a couple of spots open in case new interest exists.  The golf course is in incredible condition and has already reached the fast and firm condition for which it will be known.

Thanks.

With one week to go, here are last-minute details:

If you have not been contacted personally by the staff at Ballyhack, please email me immediately.  If you have, please return your payment preference paperwork as soon as possible.

The most reliable local weather forecast may be found at www.wdbj7.com.

Ballyhack is simply in perfect condition.  Consider bringing a low bounce wedge.

Bring your best camera.  Buds are popping on our trees and the Roanoke Valley is beautiful.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday morning, if not Friday afternoon.
