It seems there are some people on here who in my opinion do not show much respect for others. It is common for there to be those who like to hear themselves talk without much regard for what they say. This site has shown the resilancy to be bigger than a few posters who possess these undesirable qualities. I guess some recent posts over the last few months have moved me the wrong way more than most due to the wonderful  people who seem to be treated without anything resembing proper respect. I hope yet again GCA rises above this poor behavier. We are very fortunate to have attracted some outstanding people. Lets hope that good taste rules the day again. Oh by the by my post has nothing to do with Tiger Woods or the humor in Bobs post. Seasons Greetings to all.

Gentelmen...I am backing off. I called Ran a few days ago. He does want the DG to be mostly about architrecture. So I have started no OT threads since that time and will not in the future.

My comments on this thread should have provoked thought but insted provoked anger.

Some have mentioned contributions the the DG. In the past 6 months How many threads have Bob Huntley or Bill McBride started about architecture? How many have I started about architecture? How many photos have Bob or Bill posted of golf courses? They have contributed in many other ways but this is about GOLF COURSE ARCHITECTURE.

Last week (before speeking to Ran) I started a thread about Golf and College Basketball. It got deleeted. THe thread on Golf and College Football is on its 11th page. Again be blind to the Gorilla.

In the future I will not start OT threads. When I mow the famous courses I will keep that only between my three best friends. Garlad, kalen and Bill McBride. If Bob Huntely offers me advice I will not offer him the same advice back. I have many more photos that I look foward to posting and I hope they will be a positive contribution to the site. Remember when Nixon said to the press "you won't have Richard Nixon to push around enymore"? That was kind of crazy but fuuny too

Anthony,

It's unfortunate that the removal of the college basketball thread you started has hurt your feelings so much.  Did you ask Ran why he deleted that thread and not others?  It seems that the double standard you are concerned with is supposedly one the moderators are using just as much as the other posters.

Your pledge not to start OT threads is interesting, but that's not really the issue.  The biggest problem I see with your posting is that the original topic can be architecture, but you don't usually post about architecture.  You post about "MOM" or what someone was wearing or some other attempt at humor. People who don't want to read the OT threads can just skip them, but your relentless posting is a cancer that permeates every thread.

One thing I will give you credit for - and it's a dubious honor - is that you've managed to alienate both Bob Huntley & Bill McBride.  These are two of the nicest guys on GCA.  Both are generous, thoughtful, and have contributed more to the group than you or I ever likely will.  Yet you denigrate their participation by saying they haven't recently started architecture threads and that they don't post photos.  Keep in mind that both gentlemen have been on the site for much longer than you have and actually add something to many discussions.  Whether they start a new thread is hardly relevant.  As to posting photos, it's all about you, isn't it?  You like to see the pretty photos, so if they don't post any then they aren't satisfying your definition of participation.  You have posted a couple of great threads (the tour of St. Andrews & Aiken) along with some good golf course photos.  But you've probably posted just as many inane ones of "MOM" or yourself.  So don't pat yourself on the back too much.  Your batting average isn't that high.

I haven't been near GCA.com for a few days and I don't usually get involved in these threads but having read this one I must say that I agree with every word that John Mayhugh posted above.

After 5 pages of scanning, I was hoping for 1 cellphone pix or flip video link either confirming or denying the alleged sighting......nothing materialized.......very disappointing.

But Bruce; I learned how to properly use Google Maps' latitude & longitude finder!  Personally, I count that as a major plus.  On balance, a successful thread for me.

Bruce K

Have no fear after days of searching adjusting the Satellite to the real co-ordinates I have come across that which some have been seeking on this topic.

Tiger’s boat has been found and it is safe, perhaps a little Spartan now and slightly washed out, although I suppose it is because his sponsors have removed all their toys and finishes, as he no longer carries their name.

The boat is high and dry on the mud, which some might say is how Tiger feel now but I say his private life is only open if he gets well paid to sponsor products, otherwise we should all leave well alone. Sorry what that, he still has sponsors, then he is still open to scrutiny.

Therefore, Bruce, your search is at an end, a picture is posted, the topic now makes sense and reputations are still in shatters after all that.

Geoff Shackelford located the heretofore-unknown-to-me website "Gossip Cop" which, I gather, specializes in fact-checking the gossip tabloids.  (Something akin to mopping up, with a single bucket, underneath Niagara Falls, methinks.)

So, here's Gossip Cop on the 'Tiger flees to Carribbean map coordinates' story:
