Mike, we are probably too old to see the benefits of new treatments to be discovered for such things as degeneration of disc and tendon material and such. But, maybe we owe it to guys like Tiger and the highly paid pro athletes who are offering themselves up for things like this 'blood spinning' to determine if it is valuable to regeneration of our old joints and alieviating problems like we have.
For guys that love the game for the aspects of "just being out there", but have back and other issues that can no longer sustain the strain of making repeated golf swings, I had thought of a golf custom and culture thing that I believe golf course owners and operators should think about that would be a win-win.
For guys like us, that may have to abandon the swing, but love to be out there, getting the excersise, and can still walk OK (just can't make the swings) they ought to invite us to be 'player assistants' to do things like walk the course alongside groups, and help them find balls in rough, and rake the bunker for them, maybe fix ball marks on greens after the group leaves, and the next group approaches, all that sort of tidy up things. It may speed the game up for the owner operators to have more efficient flow of customers playing the game, and give us old dogs a reason to get out there, even if we can't play.
What do you think?
