Favorite pictures from this year

I love these threads at the end of the year.  I was strolling through some photos last night, and found this one which I had to share.

Can't wait to see what others have!

Cheers

So when are you going to change your profile so it says GO HUSKIES?

Jordan,

I have pretty much that same picture hanging in my living room, one of the best pictures I have ever taken, but I think I need to give most of the credit to the model!!

Bill I like this one much better.  It is truly representative of my good friend's sometimes odd but wonderful sense of humor.

I am very into narcisism....But hands down pic of the year for me is Bart's wife on the osterich. Bart even commented "I missed this for golf". It is refreshing to see people that have a passion for life.

Dude, that is a no brainer.  Surely gets my vote as well!!!

I know next to nothing about photography.  But it seems the pictures I am drawn to the most are rarely those of great courses or memorable holes.  Rather, they are more likely to be at any odd place where you just happen to catch a moment when the light and shadows combine to highlight the colors and texture of a course.  This picture was that moment for me in 2009, taken from behind the 6th green at Carolina Golf Club, my home course...

My photo find of the year is courtesy of the Uni. of St Andrews dates from 1871 looking from the West Sands to TOC and St Andrews.

You can see how much has been reclaimed from the sea since this photo - note no Bruce Embankment as yet built to the centre and left of the picture

St Andrews in 187, I just love it

WOW Melvyn. I had no idea how close the course was to the sea.

  Thanks Anthony

Another picture, this time a water colour painting of the same period. Allowing for some artistic licence, its has a similar look at the photo of 1870. This was painted just after the Rusacks Hotel was built.

The best hole in all of golf (photos taken three days into 2009, and none of the hundreds I took and posted the rest of the year topped these):

From the tee:

The up-and-over approach:

The tunnel:

The diabolical green:

But no Hamilton Hall next door to the R&A, although it appears today to be from that era:

Michael,
I like your way of thinking.  I just wish there was a full group pic from that lunch.
